Bio
Born and raised in China, I didn't start making films until I went to Singapore for secondary school, where I made a short video for the admissions office. In my high school (Raffles Junior College Singapore), I was fortunate enough to be elected as a member of the Students' Council. I was the odd one out in the Council; for I neither networked nor stood up for the students. It was where I started serious filmmaking. Every time there was a school event, I produced a short video. That was also where I was able to flex my muscles in event photography. Not a very responsible Councilor, was I? I came to Williams College in 2007, a place rich in resources, like-minded friends and endless breath-taking scenery as the backdrop for my creative activities.
And I'm also a geek. A Computer Science major, I have a keen interest in distributed systems research.
Why "rain-stars"?
"Rain-stars" is literally my Chinese name, Yuxing, in English. "Yu" (雨) = rain. "Xing" (星) = stars.
